Roulette Recap follows a randomly selected driver throughout a race to break down their efforts. There is no telling ahead of time how the race will go. The driver could face calamity on the opening lap or start from the rear and win the race. With that, may the odds be ever in the driver’s favor.

“Thank you again for the opportunity. I really appreciate it. ” – Blake Lothian

Stage 1

In just his second-ever NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series start, Blake Lothian faced Bristol Motor Speedway.  The yellow waved immediately after the race started as Mason Maggio went for a spin. Four laps later, the race resumed, and Lothian was still in P37.

He settled in at P38 and worked on learning the track. On Lap 15, Lothian was told, “All you got. They’re [the leaders] coming quick!”

Thirteen laps later, he was put a lap down. As Austin Hill worked around the No. 35, Lothian was told to fall in line and learn from him.

At the same time, Garrett Smithley fell to the back, and Lothian moved to P37, despite losing another lap.

The next caution came on Lap 63 when Austin Green slowed on track with a flat tire. Crew Chief Jay Guy told Lothian, “Catch your breath.” He opted to keep his driver on track and gain a lap back.

Facing 14 laps in the stage, Lothian lined up P36. He noted, after finishing P37, “Rolling so much better on the long run.”

Stage 2

He came to his crew for tires and adjustments, and returned to the track in P36. Just a few laps into the stage, Logan Bearden went for a spin.

He lined back up in P36 and maintained this position through the stage end. While he lost two more laps, he did not lose any additional positions.

Under caution, Lothian was told his lap times were better when he was running the top of the track in traffic.

Stage 3

Lothian was running P34 at the start of the final stage. The much-needed caution came with 106 to go when Maggio blew an engine. Following a pit stop, Lothian lined up P33 with 99 to go.

It was a quiet run until 31 to go when Gray Gaulding spun out after contact with Jesse Love.

Guy brought his driver in for adjustments and sent him back to start the race in P34 with 22 to go. But, four laps later, the caution waved as Anthony Alfredo wrecked.

Lothian was running P35 and, after some shuffling, restarted in P33 with 11 to go.

Ultimately, he finished P34 and thanked the organization for the opportunity and the team for all their hard work.

NASCAR fans know sponsors make the sport go ’round. We want to give a shoutout to THE TEXAS LAWBOOK. They played a huge part of the weekend for Blake and the No. 35 team.
