Stage 1
Carson Ware gained three positions when the first wreck of the day came just seconds after the green flag waved. However, he opted to restart P29 on Lap 7, but he quickly fell to P32.
One lap later, the second caution waved when Ryan Sieg hit the wall. Ware radioed in, “We might have gotten a piece of that.”
Lap 12 brought the next restart with Ware in P30. At the front of the field, the leaders ran three-wide and, in the chaos, Ware lost a spot.
Four laps later, Ware radioed his team and noted, “The brake pedal is really soft.”
With eight to go, the caution came out as Natalie Decker’s engine expired. Ware was scored P24, and his crew chief, Kevin Cram, called his driver to the pits. Following a quick stop, he lined up P30 and noted, “The car is really solid right now.”
He faced four to go in the stage and finished off P31.

Stage 2
After a pit stop, Ware restarted P29 and quickly fell to P33 with more complaints about the brake pedal. He gained two spots when Leland Honeyman, Jr. and Patrick Staropoli went for a spin. The No. 35 team came to pit road to diagnose the brake issue.
The team could not find anything wrong and sent Ware back on track in P30 with nine to go in the stage. Unfortunately, the caution waved once again.
Ware used the break in the action to give more details on the brake issue. He pitted from P8 and returned to the track in P29 with five to go.
In the closing laps, multiple cars bounced off the wall, but Ware held on and finished the stage P30.

Stage 3
Ware came to his crew in anticipation of a green flag run. He started the final stage in P28. He fell to P31 and was instructed to be consistent in the line he was running.
With 32 to go, some front-runners took to the pits in the midst of the longest green-flag run of the day.
Ware remained on track and was running P27 when the caution waved for Patrick Emerling. He radioed in, “There’s a little bit of good luck!”
With 13 to go, Ware rolled off P30, and ahead of him, chaos ensued as multiple cars went for a spin. He was a bit nervous about potential damage, but both his spotter and crew chief reassured him that everything was fine.
With eight to go, Ware lined up P30. He had worked to P27 when the next caution waved for a massive pile-up. In an effort to avoid wasting laps, NASCAR red-flagged the action.

The green waved, and Ware, sitting in P25, faced NASCAR Overtime. Ahead of him, drivers took it three wide. The field managed to stay green, and Ware brought it home P27.
Ware told his team, “I appreciate the effort. Sorry I wasn’t a little better.”
