Iowa Corn 350

With just four races left in the regular season, Ryan Blaney scored his third pole of the season ahead of the Iowa Corn 350. Brad Keselowski, Chase Elliott, and Denny Hamlin were forced to start from the rear.

Stage 1

The first incident came on Lap 4 when Tyler Reddick and Erik Jones got into each other, ending both their races. Once the race resumed, Blaney put a four-and-a-half-second lead on the field. By the end of the stage, teammate Joey Logano had closed in on Blaney, but the No. 12 pulled off the win.

Stage 2

Blaney and Logano led the field to green for the start of Stage 2, with Blaney edging out his teammate. Twenty-one laps into the stage, Shane Van Gisbergen went for a spin and brought out the second caution for incident.

This caution brought the majority of the field to the pits, and in a wild turn of events, Elliott found himself in the lead for the restart. Suddenly, Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. went for a spin, quickly bringing out the caution again.

Once again, it was Elliott and Blaney out front. The two ran door to door for multiple laps, but suddenly, Blaney got loose. At that, Bubba Wallace worked around him and snagged the lead. Once Blaney got his wheels back under him, he chased down Wallace.

Carson Hocevar was the next driver to bring out a caution (Lap 140) when he got loose and went for a spin. Christopher Bell and Denny Hamlin stayed out during the caution, but Alex Bowman quickly brought out the next caution when he blew a tire.

The Lap 155 restart saw Bell and Hamlin out front again, with Bell getting the advantage.

With 30 to go in the stage, Bell had a three-and-a-half-second lead on the field that was growing by the lap. Logano worked hard to get to Bell’s bumper, but ran out of laps.

Stage 3

Elliott and Blaney were back out front to start the last stage. Within five laps, Blaney set sail. In about twenty laps, Bell was fighting Blaney for the lead. On Lap 254, Bell made his move.

On Lap 285, green flag pit stops began, and when Bell made his stop, Ross Chastain took over the lead. With 19 to go, Chastain took to the pits, and Ty Gibbs assumed the lead. Directly behind Gibbs was Bell, who was working hard to reclaim his earlier lead.

With seven to go, Bell attempted a pass, but was unsuccessful. He took two more stabs at a pass, but could not get around his teammate.

With that, Ty Gibbs went on to win at Iowa.

Rich MARvelous Move of the Race

The Pit Pass Network team had a hard time narrowing down the Rich MARvelous Move for the Iowa Corn 350. However, after a night of deliberations, the nod eventually went to a driver yet to be mentioned in this recap.

One team has had a rough 2026, including five DNFs. However, Josh Berry and the No. 21 team not only finished out the race, but brought it home in the top five – after starting P13!

His Iowa finish followed up a top 10 in Indianapolis. Hopefully, the bad luck is behind Berry, and the team can regroup for the final stretch of the season.
