Roulette Recap follows a randomly selected driver throughout a race to break down their efforts. There is no telling ahead of time how the race will go. The driver could face calamity on the opening lap or start from the rear and win the race. With that, may the odds be ever in the driver’s favor.

Winn-Dixie 250

Stage 1

After spending the majority of the opening stage floating between P11 and P15, on Lap 22, Harrison Burton broke into the top 10.

With five to go, drivers started to get aggressive as the stage end neared. With this, Burton sat top of three and hit the top five.

He was surging toward the front when the caution waved with two to go.

Per new NASCAR rules, this caution ended the opening stage, and Burton was scored P6. He told his team he was a little tight, but overall, happy with the car.

He noted, “It was fun running up front!”

Stage 2

After pitting for tires, fuel, and adjustments, Burton lined up P8 to start the second stage.

Early on, he found himself in another three-wide situation – first in the middle, then on top.

Once the action settled a little, he was sitting P10. Meanwhile, spotter Hayden Reeves instructed him on managing gaps ahead and behind him.

He was running P9 when the caution waved on Lap 45 when Sammy Smith and William Sawalich got into each other.

Burton noted he tapped the No. 96 of Anthony Alfredo.

The team debated whether or not to pit. Ultimately, they opted to do so and fix the damage. Before taking the green, Burton brought his machine back to his crew to top off on fuel.

This had him lining up P27 with eight to go in the second stage, with instructions to “make it to the break.”

With five to go, Austin Hill went for a spin and brought out the caution. Once again, since the race was within 10 laps of a stage end, this caution ended the stage.

Burton was running P21, and the No. 24 team was happy with the plan.

Stage 3

The plan allowed Burton to start the final stage in P1. Before taking the green, Reeves reminded Burton of “Speedway 101.”

Thirty-nine laps remained and Burton got a solid push from Blaine Perkins. He jumped down infront of Toyota teammate, Brandon Jones.

However, when he went to block, he got shuffled to the middle and sucked back to P13.

He maintained the position until 21 to go. At this time, his line surged and he worked back to P10. Another surge put him at P6.

With 11 to go, drivers were mostly in a single-file line. Burton maintained his position, awaiting the energy, help, and run needed to make a move.

As drivers faced three to go, the caution came again when Rajah Caruth went for a spin and a hard hit. This put Burton in P5 facing NASCAR Overtime.

Burton lined up and was told, “Go get us one!”

However, he got shuffled and could not make his way back forward.

After a P8 finish, he radioed in and said, “Poor driving on my part.”
