Roulette Recap follows a randomly selected driver throughout a race to break down their efforts. There is no telling ahead of time how the race will go. The driver could face calamity on the opening lap or start from the rear and win the race. With that, may the odds be ever in the driver’s favor.
Mission 200 at the Glen
Driver: Jeremy Clements
Organization & Number: Jeremy Clements Racing, #51
Crew Chief: Matt Weber
Qualified: P11
Stage 1
Rain caused havoc at Watkins Glen International. It delayed the start of NOAPS practice and forced the cancellation of qualifying. With that, the lineup was set by the rulebook. A chaotic green flag saw Jeremy Clements lose a spot, and the field quickly fell to single file. He lost another position by Lap 5. He radioed in on Lap 10, stating that he felt a vibration. When asked for more details, he said, “everywhere.”
One lap later, he followed up with, “Feels like a loose wheel,” then confirmed it was getting worse.

By Lap 12, he was running P34, awaiting the opportunity to come to the pits. After his pit stop, Clements was informed he had a left rear coming apart. He remained on the lead lap and was instructed to “hit your marks” through the end of the stage.
Coming to the stage end, he was lapped by the leader, but was in P29.
Stage 2
Under caution, Clements took the wave-around, but noted trouble with his brakes. The No. 51 team opted to stay on track in P32 for the restart.
While attempting to avoid a spinning Lavar Scott, Clements got his nose stuck in the tire barrier. After a trip to his team, Clements returned to the track, once again a lap down, in P34.

He held his ground through Lap 34 when the caution waved for debris on the track. Clements radioed in stating that the brakes were getting worse.
He used this opportunity and came to the pits. Suddenly, Weber yelled for Clements to head to the garage. Clements was told, “We have to replace a rotor!”
Stage 2 came to a close with Clements still in the garage.
Stage 3
He returned to the track on Lap 41 in P35, down seven laps. Six laps later, the caution waved as Sheldon Creed went off track and caught air.
Clements was quiet over the radio throughout the final run. With 12 to go, he came to his team for fuel only with instructions to bring it home.
After a long day for the No. 51 team, Clements did just that, with a P33 finish.
